Training on Domestic Violence in Armenian State Pedagogical University (15.05.2016)
On May 13, 2016 the next training on domestic violence took place in Armenian State Pedagogical University. Students from the Faculty of History and Jurisprudence participated in it. Training started with how students would define domestic violence and particpants actively brought examples of domestic violence cases as they understood it. Trainers also introduced different situations and suggested students to choose which cases of violence were considered to be domestic. 
Presentation of report "Femicide in Armenia: A Silent Epidemic" (11.05.2016)
On May 11 the Coalition to Stop Violence against Women organized presentation of the report «Femicide in Armenia: A Silent Epidemic» at the Ball Room of Yerevan Best Western Congress Hotel. The term femicideand relevant statistical data was presented during this event emphisizing not only quantitative information, but qualitative as well.
Training for social workers and psychologists working in the area of domestic violence (10.05.2016)
On April 29 and 30 in Yerevan Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation organized training for psychologists and social workers working with victims of domestic violence. The event started with the opening speech of Mr. Morten Edenberge, Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs. The two-day lecture conducted by Swedish psychotherapist Josef Grande, who has specialized in working with gender based violence for the last 20 years, and Linnea Halvarsone, Gender Based Violence Consultant at Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation.
Workshop Devoted to the Promotion of Coordinated Response to Domestic Violence Cases (02.05.2016)
On April 28, 2016 the workshop devoted to the promotion of coordinated response to domestic violence cases took place in “Nairi” Hall of “Ani Plaza” Hotel. School teachers and psychologists, social workers, police officers as well as representatives of Yerevan Municipality, RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, RA Police Academy participated in the event. The workshop was opened with presentation of domestic violence problem and distinctive criteria for definition of domestic violence victim were presented.
Discussion on "Armenia and the Future of Eastern Partnership" theme (25.04.2016)
On April 22, 2016 a lecture and discussion on “Armenia and the Future of Eastern Partnership” theme took place at the Center for European Studies of the Yerevan State University (YSU). The event was opened by Dr. Thomas Schrapel, Head of Regional Program Political Dialogue South Caucasus of Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAF). Dr. Ruben Markosyan, Vice-Rector of YSU, in his turn expressed words of gratitude to Dr. Schrapel for his visit to Armenia and participation in the event. 
Training for regional staff (18.04.2016)
On April 15, 2016 WRC regional staff training took place at «Paris» Hotel. The trainers were WRC psychologist L. Hayrapetyan and attorney E. Danielyan. The training consisted of two parts: theoretical and practical. 
Training on Domestic Violence at the Institute of Law of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (11.04.2016)
Women’s Rights Center implemented domestic violence training for the students of the Institute of Law of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University. Firstly participants introduced themselves and their expectations, then followed the presentation of their questions. Domestic violence issue, types, consequences, reasons and other important facts were presented to the participants. To make the issue visible for the students domestic violence films shot by Women’s Rights Center were demonstrated.
Participation in “The Right is Yours” TV Program (10.04.2016)
The regular release of “The Rights is Yours” TV Program by H3 TV Channel took place on April 7 and was devoted to the protection of women’s rights in Armenia.The guests of the program, including Women’s Rights Center’s psychologist L. Hayrapetyan, talked about legal mechanisms of women’s rights protection, traditional roles of men and women, domestic violence problem and its consequences, as well as mass media response to this problem.
Visit to the National Children's Library after Khnko Aper (08.04.2016)
On April 7, 2016 children with their mothers visited the National Children's Library after Khnko Aper. The excursion started with a fairy-tale which was told by the narrator of fairy tales and was devoted to mothers. Then the group got acquainted with the library stock: the fairy tales, stories, journals. Everybody wished to register at the library and became permanent readers. 
At Museum after H. Tumanyan (22.03.2016)
On March 18, 2016 a group of children visited Museum after H. Tumanyan, the famous Armenian writer. This visit was both educational and entertaining. At first a museum guide told children H. Tumanyan's biography, particularly about his place of birth, childhood, youth. Children were very interested, asked questions on how he came to the idea of becoming a writer, whether he liked tales in his childhood or not. Then the guide introduced poetry, stories and tales by Tumanyan, after which one of our young participants recited a poem which he had learnt at school. 
Participation in Workshop on Combating Gender-Biased Sex Selection in Armenia (16.03.2016)
On March 16, 2016 the workshop organized by the International Center for Human Development (ICHD) took place in the conference hall of Yerevan Municipality. Representatives from different Ministries, RA Police, Yerevan Municipality, international organizations and NGOs as well as Women’s Rights Center’s were present. The events, activities, next steps of the project and especially the network for exchange of experience were presented to the participants.
Domestic violence training for school teachers, psychologists and social workers (13.03.2016)
Domestic violence training took place for the psychologists and social workers of Yerevan schools on March 10. It started with the presentation of types of domestic violence, its characteristics, consequences and contributing factors. The demonstration of social films shot by Women's Rights Center made domestic violence issue clearer for the participants; they could look at different types of violence through these films. Our specialists highlighted the impact of domestic violence on children as the teachers meet such cases in their practice.
