A regular meeting of the Women’s Support Group (24.05.2005)

A regular meeting of the Women’s Support Group took place in the office of the WRC. The aim of these meetings is to find resources for psychological and physical health of women and to develop communication skills.

Ts. Karapetyan, the WRC psychologist, met with the staff of the library #15 after Gyoulnazaryan. Ms. Karapetyan presented the aims and objectives of the “Break the silence about Violence against Women” project and the services provided within it.

Peace Coalition regular meeting (PC Meeting) took place in the UN House Conference hall.
 
Round-table discussions (07.04.2005)

In order to discuss the results of the Gender analysis carried out by the Women's Rights Center, Round-table discussion was organized at the Ani Plaza Hotel on April 8, 2005. The representatives of the Ministry of Health, Commission of the National Assembly on Social, Health and Ecology Issues, National Center of AIDS Prevention, UNFPA, representatives of NGOs dealing with Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights, doctors from different Maternity Homes and Medical Centers of Yerevan city, as well as lawyers and other members of WRC participated in the Round-table discussions.

 
Prevent Violence through Cultural Initiative (03.04.2005)

An event dedicated to the history and activities of the Women’s Rights Center took place on 4 April, 2005 at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall. At the beginning of the event the guests had a possibility to see the exhibition of handicrafts by the beneficiaries of the organization – women subjected to violence and their children. Ambassadors of foreign countries, heads of International and local NGOs and businessmen were invited to participate in the evening.

T.Maranjyan, a member of the WRC, participated in the "Erkrord Hayatsq" program on "Shant" TV, dedicated to the problem of trafficking in Armenia.
 
A meeting in the UN House (16.03.2005)
E.Grigoryan, a member of the WRC, participated in a meeting in the UN House in Armenia. The participants discussed the UNDP "Gender and Policy in Southern Caucasus" project in Armenia.
 
The 49th expanded session of the Commission on the Status of Women (10.03.2005)

Susanna Vardanyan, President of the Women’s Rights Center, has participated in the work of the NGOs in the framework of the 49th expanded session of the Commission on the Status of Women: Follow-up to the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing, 1995) and the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly entitled “Women 2000: gender equality, development and peace for the twenty-first century” (New York, 28 February-March 11, 2005).
