The guest of the program was the President of "Social Justice" NGO Arshak Gasparyan.
Prevention of violence against women and its protection is in the focus of a number of NGOs dealing with the issue. Apart from the state, NGOs are the structures that first respond to this issue and assist women providing them appropriate support.
As we know, the RA Law on the “Prevention of domestic violence in Armenia, the RA Law on the “Prevention of Domestic Violence, Protection of the Victims of Domestic Violence and Restoration of Solidarity in the Family” defines a number of functions for the police and other state and non-state structures, but before the law was passed the community police services was constantly implementing smaller components of it resulting in the notion of "irreconcilable families" being described as "the existence of domestic violence".
The decision for urgent intervention provided by the law must serve for the sake of women’s life and health protection otherwise it will have the wrong effect where the qualification of the given specialist and deep knowledge about the problem plays a big role.
The family is the social, the most closed circle where only the state has the right to enter and what will happen is an exceptional phenomenon. Besides, only the state has all the tools and mechanisms being used for the dialogue with citizen.
