Combating Gender-Biased Sex Selection in Armenia in 2015-2017 (02.05.2017)

On April 26, the concluding conference on “Combating Gender-Biased Sex Selection in Armenia in 2015-2017” was held in Ani Plaza. The project is funded by the EU and implemented by the International Center for Human Development (ICHD) in partnership with Armavir Development Centre (ADC), Martuni Women’s Community Council (MWCC) and Save the Children (STC) International. The general aim of the project is to promote the changing of gender-biased sex selection culture, as well as to reduce gender-biased sex selective abortions at least to 10%. The results of the analysis were presented during the conference. At the end of each session the conference participants had a chance to forward questions to the experts. Representatives of the state and local government bodies, diplomats, members of international and social organizations, members of the Christian Education Center of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and many others took part in the conference.
